May 2022 Commanders Message
Dear Legionnaires and Family members:
April was a busy month for us, we had many successful events and looking forward to many more throughout the summer. Breakfast with the Easter Bunny was a huge success. Bingo has also picked up. It seems more people are starting to come back out from the covid hiber- nation. We would like to thank all of the Volunteers that make things happen at the Legion. Without them, we would not be the successful organization that we are.
The annual Memorial Day celebration will be held next to the Vietnam Wall at the Nature Park at 1100am. Our guest speaker is Major General Michel M. Russell Sr., Commanding General, 1st Sustainment Command of Fort Knox. Please come out to support the event. If you would like to volunteer, come to the legion for the Memorial Day volunteer meeting on May 3rd at 5pm.
We are 27 short on our membership goal. The deadline to hit 100% is May 15th, so let’s get each member to try and bring one new member. We Always strive to help Veterans in need, so if you know of any, please call the Legion. We recently had a members that needed help and when notified, other members stepped up and took care of it. We only can do what we know of, so please call into the post if you need any assistance. If we know of members from other legions the need help, please contact their Legion to inform them.
We always need volunteers to help with bingo and the Honor Guard. Please contact the le- gion if you would like to help.
